After a 31hr flight. Viola! France welcome me with good weather,funnie custom officer n a surprise. The surprise is so huge till i almost can't take it. What is it?! well...they delay my luggage which has my formal clothes n shoes..panic mode as they said they'll send it to be by that night after 8pm. So i was ok..hope they do it. And after dinner, Jeremy helped me to check the status n guess what? they said they wont send it till the next day between 9am-noon. U can imagine, from panic mode to freak out mode. Cos i've to get a new suite in the morning at 9am then hv to prepare to go to the presentation. Then i've my speech..blah blah blah. So i was not really in the mood to hang ard any longer so we went home. And viola!! after a while, the luggage is here. What a relieved. Its so 'nice' to have such surprise on my first trip to france n on the first day. Later i heard BA is famous for baggage delay, even Air France. I've to cross fingers cos i'm taking that on my way back.
Food wise...man..also had bad comments on the first day!! There's a manager who said : since she is a vegetarian, ask her to go to an indian resturant..Jeremy was pissed by that comment though n ignored her.
Moi presentation was ok, was almost late as i was waiting for Jeremy.He was there to give moral support. Glad he was there, i'm so worried. When i went into the room, i'm already the 3rd to go on the speaker stage. (i'm 11th on the list).The presentation concept is a bit weird as everyone presents without a question time. ya weird rite..but there is something i just realized this morning. Will they'd put the question session at the end of all the speech. if so, shit!!! i'd left b4 everyone finished. HAHAAH..shit. I guess i'd made a v bad impression for my research centre.
sekali my supervisor sent a spy on me. Erm..kekeke..I'm suppose to represent and yet i was..erm..whahah..downstairs looking at simulators n eating yummy food. HAAHAH..jialat..i just realized i was terrible this morning.Kkekek..er..i was nervous in fact. anyway the simulators were cool!! really power. We came across one that gives v realistic graphic n they are selling it to Monash..cool!!! I wish we can collbrate, (have to cos, its v ex, its 25,000 euros. ok..at least i did get the name card and will try to contact them. Renault, toyota, Inrets also have simulators. Jeremy was playing with all n i guess he thinks the one from Monash is the better one. THat one is really damn cool!! cos u've real steering wheel, gears, seats, signal switches, window wiper controls..etc..many more. Almost a real car.
Then after that, its play time. We went to do some shopping and visiting for the next 1.5 day. We sat at cafe n enjoy the wind + see the pple who walked past me while having my cuppa. Its so relaxing..really like it. Also we went to the Notre Dame there..its AWESOME!!!!! its so pretty!!!! Jeremy said the one at Paris is better..shall check it out sooon. Kkekeke.. U wont believe it, I didnt finish Lyon yet. Its a nice place in fact. I like it... wont mind going back. OH!!! something abt France...there's many doggie poos on the streets so u've to beware when u walk n the paths are made of blocks of stones or pebbles so have to walk with care.
I left Lyon this morning to Aix en provence. on the way, i'd saw some roman bridges. They are so pretty. I like the arcs. The ancient pple are really power, they can make arcs n its 1 on top of each other to form a bridge!!! how they do it with just stones?!
Aix is really a small town. Its v different, mum wanted to go Marseille so we head there at ard 330pm. oh btw, the sun set ard 945pm..its gd cos we can do more travelling. I dont really like Marsille, I prefer Lyon. But still there is still photos to take..ehehhe..churches here are really impressive. I wonder how long they took to build one.
Its the first day of summer here in France. There's music festival and i got to witness the ones in Aix..so cool!! Small bands just set up on the road side n they perform for the public. there was Break dance..cool!!!!
i found something too during my time in France..French pple look down on asian ppl unless u prove you are something. y??? erm...u can guess it.
The pastries here are YUM!!!! i'm growing fat, i almost cant button up my pants.erm...is that serious.
I manage to get internet today as i'm at my fren's place. But when i turn on my msn..ex hse mate really spoilt my mood with a msg. She sent this msg on my msn: " wanna ask u .... do u remember when did u pay me the money for keyboard when we bought that keyboard last year? ...I know we bought it on 27/12 last year, I just didnt have a record for the payment that u gave to me... do u remember u paid me? "
CRAP!!!
ARGhh...kick her.
Anyway, I'm heading for Paris tmr..no plan where to visit yet..hv to read up soon..sometimes..erm..
I'm really grateful to all my frens in France who'd helped me so far..really appreciate it!!
